1 Corinthians 12:13
For we were all baptized by one Spirit into one body — whether Jews or Greeks, slave or free — and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. Matthew 28:19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, John 1:29-34 29 The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, "Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! 30 This is the one I meant when I said, 'A man who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me.' 31 I myself did not know him, but the reason I came baptizing with water was that he might be revealed to Israel." 32 Then John gave this testimony: "I saw the Spirit come down from heaven as a dove and remain on him. 33 I would not have known him, except that the one who sent me to baptize with water told me, 'The man on whom you see the Spirit come down and remain is he who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.' 34 I have seen and I testify that this is the Son of God." Matthew 3:11 "I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me will come one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not fit to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire. Isaiah 60:1-4 1 "Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you. 2 See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the LORD rises upon you and his glory appears over you. 3 Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn. 4 "Lift up your eyes and look about you: All assemble and come to you; your sons come from afar, and your daughters are carried on the arm. |
Matthew 3:11
"I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me will come one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not fit to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire. Isaiah 61:1-3 1 The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, 2 to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, 3 and provide for those who grieve in Zion- to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the LORD for the display of his splendor. Ephesians 2:20-21 20 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. 21 In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. 1 Thessalonians 5:4-9 4 But you, brothers, are not in darkness so that this day should surprise you like a thief. 5 You are all sons of the light and sons of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness. 6 So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be alert and self-controlled. 7 For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk, get drunk at night. 8 But since we belong to the day, let us be self-controlled, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet. 9 For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. |

Mike brought the message. Like a flat tire, with a bad attitude, you can't go anywhere, until you change it.
We face many problems and questions in our lives. What answers do we want?
Our human nature has many flaws. Stop kidding yourself and be honest with yourself. What are our responsibilities and what are God's responsibilities?
We were having communion and concentrated a lot on the making of sacrifices. On the topic of being the church, Pastor Dwayne looked at what God desires from us - both individually and as a nation.
How much are you willing to pay for the greatest treasure on earth?
What is the purpose and use of going to church? What do you want from it? Pastor Dwayne started looking at the experiences of God's presence even in the Old Testament. What are you prepared to pay for the joy that God has set before you?
Pastor Dwayne also referred to the amazing story of Brother Yun, the Heavenly Man: Brother Yun, Heavenly Man, Shares His Story https://youtu.be/kViMxA7eDn8 The Heavenly Man 2002 [Audiobook] https://youtu.be/05rUd9p6vfE https://ChristianAudio.com Testimony by Brother Yun https://youtu.be/L73xMGVttJE Is Brother Yun a Con-Man?! ? Andrea led us into an amazing time of worshipping God before the sermon. It was difficult to stop.
Then pastor Dwayne brought this message, saying that we want more than just singing and listening to his sermon. Do you want to come into the presence of God?
2 Chronicles
Ferdi's message was themed "Love - Do - Power".
Love is the motivation that allows us to obey God and do the right things. When we ask, we will receive the power of the Holy Spirit to enable us to do even more. We spent some time praying for each other to receive what God wants to do in our lives.
First a word from Cheryl, and then Mike's message on love and obedience. Mike was preaching from John chapters 8, 13, 14 and 15.
Pastor Dwayne elaborated on the new covenant from God that is much different from the old. Now we have so many privileges and with that also come responsibilities.
Hebrews 8:5-6|NIV
5 They serve at a sanctuary that is a copy and shadow of what is in heaven. This is why Moses was warned when he was about to build the tabernacle: "See to it that you make everything according to the pattern shown you on the mountain." 6 But the ministry Jesus has received is as superior to theirs as the covenant of which he is mediator is superior to the old one, and it is founded on better promises. 1 Corinthians 2:9|NIV However, as it is written: "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him"-- 1 Corinthians 2:9|AMP But, on the contrary, as the Scripture says, What eye has not seen and ear has not heard and has not entered into the heart of man, [all that] God has prepared (made and keeps ready) for those who love Him [ who hold Him in affectionate reverence, promptly obeying Him and gratefully recognizing the benefits He has bestowed]. John 8:36 So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. Matthew 6:10 your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. 1 Corinthians 12:7 Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.
Life is meant to be enjoyed and not too complicated or difficult.
Responsibility is key to looking at how to live the Christian life. (This service had no video feed, only audio)
We listened again to the prophetic part of Dr. Justin Manzey's message, and then Pastor Dwayne, Georgina and Ferdi discussed the expectations for us in Keremeos.
Justin Manzey's message recordings are at https://www.KeremeosCC.ca/recordings/Come-Alive-Say-YES
and https://www.KeremeosCC.ca/recordings/Come-alive-Trust-God Just the prophetic message with edited subtitles is at https://youtu.be/WHTI7jgnavw
Rita Bear Gray and her team visited us again. Before her message started we had a lively and joyful praise time for Jesus.
She overwhelmed us with respect and honour, while glorifying God with testimonies. Once we are in Christ, then reconciliation and love follows automatically between races. Every culture has unique valuable ways to glorify God.
Pastor Dwayne, Marina and Mike discussed the meanings and implications for us in Keremeos of last week's meetings with Dr. Justin Manzey.
Last week's recordings are at https://www.KeremeosCC.ca/recordings/Come-Alive-Say-YES and https://www.KeremeosCC.ca/recordings/Come-alive-Trust-God
Justin Manzey first brought a message specific for KCC and then the main message:
Say: "Come alive in me, Jesus" 1. Saying YES to Jesus changes things 2. Saying YES to Jesus opens our lives to wonderful things 3. Saying YES to Jesus opens our lives to receive peace Timestamps for:
2 Chronicles 7:16 I have chosen and consecrated this temple so that my Name may be there forever. My eyes and my heart will always be there.
Nehemiah 1:5 Then I said: “LORD, the God of heaven, the great and awesome God, who keeps his covenant of love with those who love him and keep his commandments
Justin Manzey brought the evening's message "Come Alive: Trust God"
The challenge is how much can you put your trust in Jesus?
Ephesians 3:16-20
16 I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. 17 Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. 18 And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. 19 May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. 20 Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. 21Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen. Proverbs 3:5-6 5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. 6 Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.
Dr. Justin Manzey gave a lecture to the leaders on Saturday morning on church growth.
People interested in healthy churches will benefit from this teaching. Some key points were:
On Father's day we look at the role of fathers in our church and community.
What is God's calling on your life? How does a single mom cope? How do we learn to be fathers?
Ephesians 2:19-20
19 Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God's people and members of God's household, 20 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. Ephesians 4:11-12 11 It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, 12 to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up Romans 12:2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is — his good, pleasing and perfect will. Acts 19:1 - 20:2 John 3:16
Last week we learned we're not a perfect church, but may be we are the best church? ?
After 3 weeks of special meetings (Mother's Day testimonies, Cowboy church at the rodeo, and a Sunday wedding), we had a "normal" meeting again.
Pastor Dwayne tells us about our problems and why we're not the perfect church. How God still loves us in spite of our failures and what some basic steps are to please God.
The video starts with worship. Pastor Dwayne's message start at 15:30.
We had cowboy church at the rodeo grounds with a gospel country group to provide the music. Pastor Dwayne compares the history of when this area was starting to develop to the fast-paced world we are living in now. What is God asking from us?
The full service was recorded.
Pastor Dwayne gives another take on the misconceptions some people have about the church.
This week Mike brought the message and we looked at our role in the corporate church and how God wants us to grow. When spending time together, we learn.
Most of his message came from Ephesians, but continued in Galatians, Philippians, Colossians and Thessalonians.
Ephesians 1:1 Ephesians 2:1 Ephesians 3:1 Ephesians 4:1
Galatians 1:1 Philippians 1:6 Colossians 1:1 1 Thessalonians 4:4
Continuing from last week's "What is God's pattern for a church?", pastor Dwayne tells us more from the New Testament about God's calling and purpose for you.
Philippians 2:14-16
14 Do everything without complaining or arguing, 15 so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe 16 as you hold out the word of life--in order that I may boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor for nothing. Philippians 1:1 Paul and Timothy, servants of Christ Jesus, To all the saints in Christ Jesus at Philippi, together with the overseers and deacons: Revelation 1:20 The mystery of the seven stars that you saw in my right hand and of the seven golden lampstands is this: The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands are the seven churches. 1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. Psalms 119:105 Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.
What is God's pattern for a church?
We look at patterns seen in Ephesus and Antioch.
