Stuck in a thought – from Past trauma, the thoughts we received from others and ourselves
What thought are you stuck in that hold you back? Stuck in a feeling – from a feeling you received whether true or not, feeling angry, betrayed, misunderstood, What feeling are you stuck in? Stuck in an action – I don’t have the skill set or resources to get out of where I am. What skill or resource do you lack that makes you feel stuck? Stuck spiritually – My prayers are not heard, I have been wounded or broken in my spirit. What happened in my spiritual life that has made me feel stuck? => New Thoughts Ecclesiastes 3:1 For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven. • Every season in life has a purpose. • There are hard seasons, like growing seasons, and happy seasons. Regardless of the season, each season is part of your purpose in God. => New Feelings John 13:7 7 Jesus replied, “You don’t understand now what I am doing, but someday you will.” • Even though we may not always understand the purpose behind certain seasons of life, God eventually reveals it to us later if we wait on Him. • We don’t need to understand God in order to trust Him with our life. We just have to believe that He knows what He is doing. => New Actions Jeremiah 29:11 11 For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. • The hard seasons in life are not meant to destroy us. • God has good thoughts for us in every season of our lives. • The action is to believe and receive hope! => New Spiritual renewal 2 Corinthians 5:17 17 This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! • Your new beginning can start today! • Lean into God’s presence and ask the Holy Spirit to awaken you to His love, grace, mercy and hope. For Father's Day celebration, we had a panel discussion where men shared their personal experiences of being fathered and being a father to others.
Pastor Jason Goertzen gave an excellent reminder of how Christians are very commonly distracted from God's calling on our lives, by things that seem right, good and important.
"It doesn't matter to the devil what side of the argument you're on. It doesn't - as long as he can have you, use carnal means to tear down the other person." He is a chaplain to the MLA's at the BC Legislature in Victoria.
