Worship lifestyle and idolatry

​What is idolatry in our modern lifestyles?
When would action, passion, participation, devotion in a certain protocol, willing committing to lifestyle result in worship?

Psalms 135:15-18
15 The idols of the nations are silver and gold, made by the hands of men.
16 They have mouths, but cannot speak, eyes, but they cannot see;
17 they have ears, but cannot hear, nor is there breath in their mouths.
18 Those who make them will be like them, and so will all who trust in them.
Jeremiah 2:5|NIV This is what the LORD says: "What fault did your fathers find in me, that they strayed so far from me? They followed worthless idols and became worthless themselves.
Jeremiah 2:13-15|NIV
