"Stuff" and weirdness: obstacles to Spiritual life

How to get rid of "stuff" that holds you back. Pastor Dwayne showed us the way to freedom in the Holy Spirit if we deal with those unwanted "stuff" in our lives.
It was an encouraging meeting. Johan and Matt lead the worship.
Afterwards the ladies provided a luncheon and we had lots of fellowship over the meal.

Acts 2:17-18 17 "'In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams. 18 Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy. Galatians 3:26-29 26 You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus, 27 for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise. Galatians 4:1-7 NIV 1 What I am saying is that as long as the heir is a child, he is no different from a slave, although he owns the whole estate. 2 He is subject to guardians and trustees until the time set by his father. 3 So also, when we were children, we were in slavery under the basic principles of the world. 4 But when the time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under law, 5 to redeem those under law, that we might receive the full rights of sons. 6 Because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, "Abba, Father." 7 So you are no longer a slave, but a son; and since you are a son, God has made you also an heir.

Hebrews 4:16 Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

1 John 3:1 How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. NIV

Partners with God.

During worship, Eleanor read her poem, "Hear the Heartbeat of Jesus". Pastor Dwayne encourage us to become God's partners when we live by the Holy Spirit.
Next week Sunday, we will have a lunch as a fundraiser for the women's conference in August. Come and enjoy the day with us.

Prophesy from Joel about the Spirit

The Alpha course on Sunday nights has come to completion. It was very insightful and we hope to run again another season. Today we learned about the Holy Spirit leading us to prophesy God's truth that we can give the Good News to the people around us.

Value of the Holy Spirit

Before the Holy Spirit came to be with us always, the Jews had a total different experience of God's presence. We didn't experience the huge change God made and might find it difficult to understand the impact. (You'll have to listen if you want to know what an arc welder is doing in my pictures!)
Last week was the successful Easter program and meal that we hosted for the wider community of Keremeos. Some photos were posted to the facebook page.
