What's the big deal?

What of all those wonderful promises of experiencing the glory of God and heaven are real now before we go to heaven?
Pastor Dwayne mentions 3 platforms or places where we can experience the presence of God.
(Homework: 1 Corinthians 2:8-14 and Luke 4:13-18)
Psalms 139:7-8|NIV
7 Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence?
8 If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
1 Corinthians 6:19|NIV
19 Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;
1 Corinthians 3:16|NIV
16 Don't you know that you yourselves are God's temple and that God's Spirit lives in you?
1 John 4:4|NIV
4 You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.
Matthew 18:20|NIV
20 For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them."
Acts 2:1|NIV
1 When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place.
Hebrews 10:25|NIV
25 Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another--and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
Revelation 21:23|NIV
The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp.
Revelation 19:6-7|NIV
6 Then I heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the roar of rushing waters and like loud peals of thunder, shouting: "Hallelujah! For our Lord God Almighty reigns.
7 Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready.

1 Peter 1:8|NIV
Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy,
Philippians 4:7|NIV
And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Acts 4:31|NIV
31 After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.
1 Corinthians 2:9-10,8|NIV
9 However, as it is written: "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him"--
10 but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit.
8 None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
1 Corinthians 2:11-14|NIV
11 The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the man's spirit within him? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.
12 We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us.
13 This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words.
14 The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Pastor Dwayne sets the record straight on how (un)important it is to attend church meetings. God has given us instructions, and it pays to follow them. Entering into the presence of God and letting God speak to you is one of the best things to experience.
(Homework: 2 Samuel 6 - the story of Uzzah told in the recoding at 15:30)

Malachi 3:6 "I the LORD do not change. So you, O descendants of Jacob, are not destroyed.
Hebrews 13:8|NIV Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
Psalms 84:10|NIV Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere; I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked.
Psalms 84:10|TPT For just one day of intimacy with you is like a thousand days of joy rolled into one! I’d rather stand at the threshold in front of the Gate Beautiful, ready to go in and worship my God, than to live my life without you in the most beautiful palace of the wicked.
2 Samuel 6:2-6|NIV
2 He and all his men set out from Baalah of Judah to bring up from there the ark of God, which is called by the Name, the name of the LORD Almighty, who is enthroned between the cherubim that are on the ark.
3 They set the ark of God on a new cart and brought it from the house of Abinadab, which was on the hill. Uzzah and Ahio, sons of Abinadab, were guiding the new cart
4 with the ark of God on it, and Ahio was walking in front of it.
5 David and the whole house of Israel were celebrating with all their might before the LORD, with songs and with harps, lyres, tambourines, sistrums and cymbals.
6 When they came to the threshing floor of Nacon, Uzzah reached out and took hold of the ark of God, because the oxen stumbled.
Acts 1:8|NIV But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."

Our culture is under attack, and in turn the church is under attack.  But it has been for the last 2,000 years.  Listen how pastor Dwayne illustrates the effect of pouring out of the Holy Spirit and that our fight is to listen to God.
Psalms 139:7 Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence?
1 Corinthians 3:16|NIV
Don't you know that you yourselves are God's temple and that God's Spirit lives in you?
Matthew 18:20|NIV  For where two or three come together in my Name, there am I with them."
Isaiah 9:7|NIV  Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David's throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the LORD Almighty will accomplish this.
Psalms 22:27-28|NIV  27 All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to the LORD, and all the families of the nations will bow down before him,
28 for dominion belongs to the LORD and he rules over the nations.
Acts 2:17|NIV  "In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.

Isaiah 54:1-5|NIV
1 "Sing, O barren woman, you who never bore a child; burst into song, shout for joy, you who were never in labor; because more are the children of the desolate woman than of her who has a husband," says the LORD.
2 "Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes.
3 For you will spread out to the right and to the left; your descendants will dispossess nations and settle in their desolate cities.
4 "Do not be afraid; you will not suffer shame. Do not fear disgrace; you will not be humiliated. You will forget the shame of your youth and remember no more the reproach of your widowhood.
5 For your Maker is your husband- the LORD Almighty is his name- the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer; he is called the God of all the earth.

Learn more about "where two or three come together in my Name" and "they were all with one accord in one place".  Pastor Dwayne Trelenberg looked at the practical life for Christians with the emphasis on getting together in unity.
Ephesians 4:1-6
1 As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received.
2 Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.
3 Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.
4 There is one body and one Spirit -- just as you were called to one hope when you were called --
5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism;
6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.
Acts 2:1|KJV And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
John 14:13 And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father.
Matthew 18:20|NIV For where two or three come together in my Name, there am I with them.
John 17:20-23|NIV
20 "My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message,
21 that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.
22 I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one:
23 I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.
Acts 12:12|NIV When this had dawned on him, he went to the house of Mary the mother of John, also called Mark, where many people had gathered and were praying.
Acts 13:1-3|NIV
1 In the church at Antioch there were prophets and teachers: Barnabas, Simeon called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen (who had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch) and Saul.
2 While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said,
"Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them."  3 So after they had fasted and prayed, they placed their hands on them and sent them off.
Acts 16:25-26,40
25 About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them.
26 Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everybody's chains came loose.
40 After Paul and Silas came out of the prison, they went to Lydia's house, where they met with the brothers and encouraged them. Then they left.
