Gord Sonnichsen was the guest speaker on the theme "Truth". What are some of the basic truths that we bust believe? Where can we differ? Which truths do you ignore?
Worship was led by Johan with support from Danielle, Terese and Steve. The fellowship was so good - people didn't want to leave.

John 14:1-6     1 "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. 2 In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. 4 You know the way to the place where I am going." 5 Thomas said to him, "Lord, we don't know where you are going, so how can we know the way?" 6 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
John 14:6 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
Philippians 2:6-8   6 Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, 7 but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death--even death on a cross! NIV
John 1:1-3   1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. NIV
John 1:14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. NIV
Revelation 3:15-17   15 I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! 16 So, because you are lukewarm--neither hot nor cold--I am about to spit you out of my mouth. 17 You say, 'I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.' But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked. NIV
James 2:18 But someone will say, "You have faith; I have deeds." Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by what I do. NIV
Matthew 28:19-20   19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
John 5:26-27   26 For as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son to have life in himself. 27 And he has given him authority to judge because he is the Son of Man. NIV

The Ways of God

God works in wonderful ways. Pastor Dwayne elaborated a bit on what we can expect from God. Jesus is the only way to God, the Father.

John 14:6 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. NIV
Proverbs 14:12 There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death. NIV
John 13:34-35   34 "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."
Luke 10:27 He answered: "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind'; and, 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'" NIV
Galatians 5:16-17   16 So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature. 17 For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature. They are in conflict with each other, so that you do not do what you want. NIV
John 17:20-22   20 "My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, 21 that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. 22 I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one: NIV
Luke 4:18 "The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed, NIV
Ephesians 2:6 And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, NIV

Passion: Living life with a purpose

Pastor Dwayne's message on "passion" led to the question of what is your purpose.  An illustration with flashlights is quite motivational to find and live your purpose.

Interaction with God

For Thanksgiving, Terry Friesen was the guest speaker.  He shared about having real encounters with God.
We had a scrumptious luncheon afterwards with lots of fellowship.  Thanks to all the people who prepared the food, and most of all: Thanks to our Father who blesses us with more than enough.

 1 Corinthians 12:4-27
4 There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. 5 There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. 6 There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work.
7 Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. 8 To one there is given through the Spirit a message of wisdom, to another a message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, 9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, 10 to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues,[a] and to still another the interpretation of tongues.[b] 11 All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each one, just as he determines.
Unity and Diversity in the Body
12 Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. 13 For we were all baptized by[c] one Spirit so as to form one body—whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. 14 Even so the body is not made up of one part but of many.
15 Now if the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,” it would not for that reason stop being part of the body.16 And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body,” it would not for that reason stop being part of the body.17 If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be?18 But in fact God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be. 19 If they were all one part, where would the body be? 20 As it is, there are many parts, but one body.
21 The eye cannot say to the hand, “I don’t need you!” And the head cannot say to the feet, “I don’t need you!” 22 On the contrary, those parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable, 23 and the parts that we think are less honorable we treat with special honor. And the parts that are unpresentable are treated with special modesty, 24 while our presentable parts need no special treatment. But God has put the body together, giving greater honor to the parts that lacked it, 25 so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other. 26 If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it.
27 Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.
Acts 2:2-4
2 Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3 They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. 4 All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues[a] as the Spirit enabled them.
Acts 4:31 After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.
Ezekiel 43:5 Then the Spirit lifted me up and brought me into the inner court, and the glory of the Lord filled the temple.
Acts 7:55 But Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, looked up to heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God.
John 11:40 Then Jesus said, “Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?”

"The Church building" vs "Building the Church"

10/2/2016

Looking at our up coming building project, pastor Dwayne often got lost during this message by concentrating on building God's kingdom, instead of a building to meet in.   Where does KCC and the other churches fit into God's plan for Keremeos? We looked back at what God has already done in the process to a new building for KCC. Feedback was given on our building fund since the faith promise earlier this year.  The poorly recorded song at the beginning and end was "God of this city" by Chris Tomlin or listen to it here with local visuals from Keremeos.
The ladies gave feedback from their Women's Conference last week at RockRidge Canyon, Princeton.
The 2009 prophetic word on Keremeos Community Church is printed below.

For this is the day the Lord has specifically arranged to meet with this gathering and to motivate and stimulate in your spirits a greater vision and a higher horizon.
For I have come to you in times past, I have blessed, and I will continue to come and bless but I am coming also to change the perspective, I am coming to look at things differently, I am coming to cause you to see things in my eyes and my understanding.
For there has been a contentment in many of the hearts, saying, this is great and this is good, but the Lord brings a discontent in the spirit and is saying, I want an enlargement, and I am going to cause you to think enlargement.
For I have come to renew your minds and to renew your thinking – no longer shall it be the old ways but it shall be new – with new enthusiasm, with new sacrifice, with new giving.
I am going to begin to move upon you and to make the impossible, possible because you have dwelt long enough on the impossible – and said, it can't be done.
But I go back into the history of this city – and those that have labored in years gone by – 30, 40, or 50 years ago, they that labored have staked out a claim and I have not given up this claim says the Lord – and I have looked for a people and I have found heartless people over and over and over again who said, it is impossible.  I am going to make the impossible, possible – I am going to make the illogical, logical, and I am going to make the natural, supernatural  even as I said to Moses, stand thou here on the rock by Me, so he stood on the rock.
But I go to Abraham and said to him, look from where you are, and as Abraham looked from where he was, he saw a bleak horizon – and he began to journey and the Lord brought him on and on and made the path plain for him and gave him the inheritance of the Lord – so there is an inheritance of the Lord that is in this place – in this valley, in these hills, and I am about to claim them says the Lord – hearken to the word of the Lord.  Say no longer it is impossible – five years ago this was impossible, that which seemed impossible then became possible.  I will do more than your expectations have afforded you.
I will renew your mind as you cry out to me – as you search me – and when your mind is renewed, there will be a supernatural revelation of my spirit that will come and faith will wrap itself around the revelation and it shall come to pass, says the Lord.
If you doubt, I will do nothing.  I will just let you maintain where you are.  But if you allow faith to wrap around the revelation of my will and my purposes, then I will come and I will bend and twist, push and pull.  You will be uncomfortable at times but it is all for the good of the kingdom – it is not for you – it is for me, says the Lord.
The claim is only lost when we pull up the stakes and give them to someone else.  But I speak in the authority and the anointing of the Holy Spirit “the stakes have not been pulled out.”  People have pulled on them, they have jerked, they have pushed on them.  But I have launched them in the bedrock of this community, says the Lord, and I will not allow them to be tampered with.
