Pastor Dwayne taught us about God's mercy.  Starting from the Old Testament to the struggles we face today, we can experience His mercy. Prophetic words were given by Mike and Jarius.  Terese lead the worship team. The video we listened to near the end of the sermon is the song Mercy by Matt Redman.

John 15:26 "When the Counselor comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father, he will testify about me.
Psalms 80:1 Hear us, O Shepherd of Israel, you who lead Joseph like a flock; you who sit enthroned between the cherubim, shine forth
Exodus 25:22 There, above the cover between the two cherubim that are over the ark of the Testimony, I will meet with you and give you all my commands for the Israelites.
Ephesians 6:12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
Psalms 99:1-4 NIV    1 The LORD reigns, let the nations tremble; he sits enthroned between the cherubim, let the earth shake. 2 Great is the LORD in Zion; he is exalted over all the nations. 3 Let them praise your great and awesome name -- he is holy. 4 The King is mighty, he loves justice - you have established equity; in Jacob you have done what is just and right.
Romans 3:21-25 NIV    21 But now a righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. 22 This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. 25 God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith in his blood. He did this to demonstrate his justice, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished

"Let's talk" - Sharing the good things

A Sunday service without preaching! Very worthwhile to listen what these people shared from their practical experience.
We celebrated the Lord's Supper and then pastor Dwayne Trelenberg interviewed Steve and Cathy about the good things they have to share and how they do it.  Steve and Terese lead the communion.  The talks start at 11 minutes in the recording.

George : Galatians 4:7 ►
New International Version
So you are no longer a slave, but God's child; and since you are his child, God has made you also an heir.
New Living Translation
Now you are no longer a slave but God's own child. And since you are his child, God has made you his heir.
The Message
4-7 But when the time arrived that was set by God the Father, God sent his Son, born among us of a woman, born under the conditions of the law so that he might redeem those of us who have been kidnapped by the law. Thus we have been set free to experience our rightful heritage. You can tell for sure that you are now fully adopted as his own children because God sent the Spirit of his Son into our lives crying out, “Papa! Father!”  Doesn’t that privilege of intimate conversation with God make it plain that you are not a slave, but a child?  And if you are a child, you’re also an heir, with complete access to the inheritance.
Terese: 1 Corinthians 11:23-26
23 I passed on to you the tradition the Lord gave to me: On the same night the Lord Jesus was betrayed, He took the bread in His hands; 24 and after giving thanks to God, He broke it and said, “This is My body, broken for you. Keep doing this so that you and all who come after will have a vivid reminder of Me.” 25 After they had finished dinner, He took the cup and in the same way said, “This cup is the new covenant, executed in My blood. Keep doing this; and whenever you drink it, you and all who come after will have a vivid reminder of Me.” 26 Every time you taste this bread and every time you place the cup to your mouths and drink, you are declaring the Lord’s death, which is the ultimate expression of His faithfulness and love, until He comes again.  (The Voice)
Pastor Dwayne:
John 1:40 Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, was one of the two who heard what John had said and who had followed Jesus. NIV
John 1:41 The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother Simon and tell him, "We have found the Messiah" (that is, the Christ). NIV
John 1:45 Philip found Nathanael and told him, "We have found the one Moses wrote about in the Law, and about whom the prophets also wrote — Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph." NIV
John 1:46 "Nazareth! Can anything good come from there?" Nathanael asked. "Come and see," said Philip. NIV
Cathy:
Ephesians 2:8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith — and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God — 9 not by works, so that no one can boast.
Steve:
Romans 12:2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
The Parable of the Seed Sower: Mark 4.
“It is no use walking anywhere to preach unless our walking is our preaching.” - St. Francis of Assisi

About the Holy Spirit

Johan came from Chilliwack to lead the singing with Danielle on the keyboard, Lael on the guitar and Steve on the drums. Pastor Dwayne had some more to say about the Holy Spirit working as a Person of the Trinity in us.  Don't settle for a life without the guidance and power from the Holy Spirit in you.
The recording starts with a poem from Eleanor.

John 16:7-8   7 But I tell you the truth: It is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Counselor will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. 8 When he comes, he will convict the world of guilt in regard to sin and righteousness and judgment: NIV
Acts 7:56 "Look," he said, "I see heaven open and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God." NIV
John 14:26 But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. NIV
John 16:12-15   12 "I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. 13 But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. 14 He will bring glory to me by taking from what is mine and making it known to you. 15 All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will take from what is mine and make it known to you. NIV
Acts 19:2,6 NIV    2 and asked them, "Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?" They answered, "No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit." 6 When Paul placed his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in tongues and prophesied.
Romans 8:11,16 NIV    11 And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit, who lives in you. 16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children.

Lionel Batke was our guest speaker today.  All his stories about what God is doing in his missions to Northern Canada and Asia were very encouraging. Below are some of the photo's from his trips in the last year.
Terese was leading the musicians.
The fellowship before and after the service was wonderful as usual.
