Another message on the power of Holy Spirit, but this time by Ferdi. He told the story of "Bruchko", a 19 year old missionary, Bruce Olso, who went to an Amazon tribe and the huge effect it had on many tribes in that region. Some practical examples of the Holy Spirit's power were given and the motivating factor behind all this should always be your love for Jesus Christ. Johan lead the worship and we have 3 songs recorded.

Church was a rich experience today. Steve shared very practical around the theme of "Let the Holy Spirit shine thru you". It was filled with laughter, testimonies and demonstrations (see pictures below). Have you ever heard that a restraining device gives you peace and freedom to enjoy life? Definitely on a roller coaster! If you look for the Alpha course's message on the chocolate cake you can find it here. (On Wednesday nights, we are watching the newer 2016 version of this Alpha course.) Steve also mentioned Joyce Meyer's sermon on "Seize the Day" also on youtube.
The worship today was "coffee house" style, and was lovely with Glenda leading, and Johan and Danielle helping. Pastor Dwayne didn't pour coffee in those cups, but his topic was the out pouring of the Holy Spirit. 2 Timothy 1:9 Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began, KJV
Romans 8:28-29 28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. 29 For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. NIV Acts 2:17-18 17 "'In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams. 18 Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy. NIV 1 Corinthians 3:16 Don't you know that you yourselves are God's temple and that God's Spirit lives in you? NIV Genesis 3:22 And the LORD God said, "The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever." NIV Pastor Dwayne literary hammered the message home with a hammer and anvil! Listen and see the photos. We prayed for some people and for all the kids starting school this week. We sent off Samuel to Master's Commission in Chilliwack - starting next week. Women's Bible studies are starting on Tuesday and the Soup Kitchen is still working hard. The Alpha course will be presented for church members starting Wednesday next week. Women's Conference coming up on September 23.
