Andrea led us into an amazing time of worshipping God before the sermon. It was difficult to stop.

Then pastor Dwayne brought this message, saying that we want more than just singing and listening to his sermon. Do you want to come into the presence of God?

Ferdi's message was themed "Love - Do - Power".
Love is the motivation that allows us to obey God and do the right things. When we ask, we will receive the power of the Holy Spirit to enable us to do even more. We spent some time praying for each other to receive what God wants to do in our lives.
John 14:15,23a
15 If you love me, you will obey what I command.
23a Jesus replied, "If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching.
Hebrews 12:2a Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross
James 4:8a Come near to God and he will come near to you.
Psalms 116:15 Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.
John 15:15 I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master's business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.
1 John 3:1 How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!
2 Corinthians 12:10 For Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
Romans 12:2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is – his good, pleasing and perfect will.
Acts 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.
1 Corinthians 12:29,31
29 Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles?
31 But eagerly desire the greater gifts.
John 16:24 Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.
John 8:32,36
32 Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.
36 So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.

Love part 2

First a word from Cheryl, and then Mike's message on love and obedience. Mike was preaching from John chapters 8, 13, 14 and 15.
1 Corinthians 13:4-8|NLT 1996
4 Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud
5 or rude. Love does not demand its own way. Love is not irritable, and it keeps no record of when it has been wronged.
6 It is never glad about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out.
7 Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.
8 Love will last forever, but prophecy and speaking in unknown languages and special knowledge will all disappear.
John 8:31-32|NLT 1996
31 Jesus said to the people who believed in him, "You are truly my disciples if you keep obeying my teachings.
32 And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."
John 13:17|NLT 1996 You know these things--now do them! That is the path of blessing.
John 13:34|NLT 1996 So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other.
John 14:15|NLT 1996 "If you love me, obey my commandments.
John 14:21|NLT 1996   Those who obey my commandments are the ones who love me. And because they love me, my Father will love them, and I will love them. And I will reveal myself to each one of them.
John 14:23|NLT 1996 Jesus replied, "All those who love me will do what I say. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and live with them.
John 15:9-10|NLT 1996
9 "I have loved you even as the Father has loved me. Remain in my love.
10 When you obey me, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father and remain in his love.
John 15:12-13|NLT 1996
12 I command you to love each other in the same way that I love you.
13 And here is how to measure it--the greatest love is shown when people lay down their lives for their friends.
John 15:17|NLT 1996 I command you to love each other.

32  And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."

12  This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you.
13  There is no greater love than to lay down one's life for one's friends.

A better covenant

8/6/2023

Pastor Dwayne elaborated on the new covenant from God that is much different from the old. Now we have so many privileges and with that also come responsibilities.
Hebrews 8:5-6|NIV
5 They serve at a sanctuary that is a copy and shadow of what is in heaven. This is why Moses was warned when he was about to build the tabernacle: "See to it that you make everything according to the pattern shown you on the mountain."
6 But the ministry Jesus has received is as superior to theirs as the covenant of which he is mediator is superior to the old one, and it is founded on better promises.
1 Corinthians 2:9|NIV
However, as it is written: "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him"--
1 Corinthians 2:9|AMP
But, on the contrary, as the Scripture says, What eye has not seen and ear has not heard and has not entered into the heart of man, [all that] God has prepared (made and keeps ready) for those who love Him [ who hold Him in affectionate reverence, promptly obeying Him and gratefully recognizing the benefits He has bestowed].
John 8:36 So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.
Matthew 6:10 your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
1 Corinthians 12:7 Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.
