Hunters vs Hikers

Other people can't see thru your eyes.  They want to know:
1. Are you looking?
2. What are you looking for?
3. What are you qualified to look for?
Pastor Dwayne continued on his hunting theme from last week about "Hungry Eyes", looking at the differences between hunters and hikers.
The promise and purpose is revival in your life.
Matthew 13:13-15|NIV
13 This is why I speak to them in parables: "Though seeing, they do not see; though hearing, they do not hear or understand.
14 In them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah: "'You will be ever hearing but never understanding; you will be ever seeing but never perceiving.
15 For this people's heart has become calloused; they hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts and turn, and I would heal them.'
Colossians 1:12 giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light.
2 Timothy 1:9 who has saved us and called us to a holy life -- not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time,
Isaiah 53:5 But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed.
1 Peter 2:24 He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed.

The difference between the eyes of a hunter and the eyes of a hiker in the same circumstances lead to the title of this message by pastor Dwayne Trelenberg.  How are you looking at the world around you? To enjoy and appreciate it, or to gain something?
Matthew 13:13-15|NIV
13 This is why I speak to them in parables: "Though seeing, they do not see; though hearing, they do not hear or understand.
14 In them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah: "'You will be ever hearing but never understanding; you will be ever seeing but never perceiving.

Acts 4:12|NIV Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved."
Philippians 2:12|NIV Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed --not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence--
continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling,
2 Timothy 3:5|NIV having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them.
Acts 1:8|NIV But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
John 14:12|NIV I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.

Shoes and feet

Georgina brought a joyful message that calls us to serve God. Hear about shoes, feet and lamps.
We listened to "Holy Ground" as sung by Charity Gayle.
Psalm 119:105 Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.
Ephesians 6:15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.
Ephesians 6:15 TPT Stand on your feet alert, then you’ll always be ready to share the blessings of peace.
Isaiah 52:7 How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, “Your God reigns!”
John 13:4-16 Jesus ...
4 got up from supper, and laid aside His garments; and taking a towel, He girded Himself.
5 Then He poured water into the basin, and began to wash the disciples’ feet and to wipe them with the towel with which He was girded. 6 So He came to Simon Peter. He said to Him, “Lord, do You wash my feet?” 7 Jesus answered and said to him, “What I do you do not realize now, but you will understand hereafter.” 8Peter said to Him, “Never shall You wash my feet!” Jesus answered him, “If I do not wash you, you have no part with Me.” 9Simon Peter said to Him, “Lord, then wash not only my feet, but also my hands and my head.” 10 Jesus said to him, “He who has bathed needs only to wash his feet, but is completely clean; and you are clean, but not all of you.” 11 For He knew the one who was betraying Him; for this reason He said, “Not all of you are clean.”
12 So when He had washed their feet, and taken His garments and reclined at the table again, He said to them, “Do you know what I have done to you? 13 “You call Me Teacher and Lord; and you are right, for so I am. 14 “If I then, the Lord and the Teacher, washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. 15 “For I gave you an example that you also should do as I did to you. 16 “Truly, truly, I say to you, a slave is not greater than his master, nor is one who is sent greater than the one who sent him.

Rita Bear Gray

Rita Bear Gray, our guest speaker, brought a refreshing message of hope from her native view point.
Rita has a rich experience of ministering among First Nations of the north and various indigenous tribes.  One can hear about her adventures from her being abandoned up north as a 4-year old, to her current ministry with an emphasis on reconciliation, prayer and intercession.
She was born on the rez in Sandy Bay, Saskatchewan, got a Catholic education, was saved at 26 in a Baptist church, baptized in a Pentecostal church and later became an ordained minister.
She ministered in Alaska, the Artic and at various international conferences with people like Jean Stephansen, John Dawson, Peter Wagner, Chuck Pierce, and more. Her travels took her to many countries including the Israeli and Palestinian people where they even spoke at the Knesset.
You may read her testimony "Abandoned but not forsaken".

She wrote:
As a Native American woman, my identity is in Christ first and when you know who you are in Him first, then He gives it back to you because He is a God of restoration. If you need a mother or a father, or a best friend, Jesus is whatever you need Him to be.
If you are a First Nations person, He gives you back your songs, your language, your dances-everything about you that makes you who you are as a Native person.
I've learned that every culture has things that are precious and vile. You have to take the precious from the vile. Take the good and use it for His glory and leave the bad.
Every culture is a sin-stained culture. None of us are without sin.
