This is the start of a new series by pastor Dwayne. It is a powerful message with the power to change and heal you if you have the courage to trust God.

Mike Andersen brought the message today, painting a portrait of Jesus from the books of John and Hebrews. It was like a Bible study that brought so much more light on who Jesus is and how to believe in Him and walk in faith with Him.
The worship video at the end was This is Amazing Grace by Jeremy Riddle (alternative link). Rejoice with us and listen to this message below. Terese and Steve H were back after a long absence - so worship time was refreshing new. Christine played the bass guitar. We celebrated communion with Ferdi & Marina leading. Pastor Dwayne explained the difference between a child-parent relationship vs friendship. We saw the love, trust and huge responsibility God put on our shoulders by calling us his friends. The two song we listened to can be found at "Raise a Hallelujah (LIVE VICTORY)" (alternative link) from Bethel and "Days of Elijah (No God like Jehova)" (alternative link) by Judy Jacobs. Hebrews 4:14-16 <The Message> Now that we know what we have — Jesus, this great High Priest with ready access to God — let’s not let it slip through our fingers. We don’t have a priest who is out of touch with our reality. He’s been through weakness and testing, experienced it all — all but the sin. So let’s walk right up to him and get what he is so ready to give. Take the mercy, accept the help. Hebrews 4:14-16 <The Passion Translation> ... we must cling in faith to all we know to be true. For we have a magnificent King-Priest, Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who rose into the heavenly realm for us, and now sympathizes with us in our frailty. 15 He understands humanity, for as a Man, our magnificent King-Priest was tempted in every way just as we are, and conquered sin. 16 So now we come freely and boldly to where love is enthroned, to receive mercy’s kiss and discover the grace we urgently need to strengthen us in our time of weakness. John 15:13-15 13 Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. 14 You are my friends if you do what I command. 15 I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master's business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. John 13:34-35 34 "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." -------- Exodus 33:11 NIV The LORD would speak to Moses face to face, as a man speaks with his friend. Then Moses would return to the camp, but his young aide Joshua son of Nun did not leave the tent. Exodus 3:6 Then he said, "I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob." At this, Moses hid his face, because he was afraid to look at God. John 15:15 I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master's business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. John 14:9 Jesus answered: "Don't you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, 'Show us the Father'? Matthew 27:51 At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook and the rocks split. John 5:19 Jesus gave them this answer: "I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does. John 12:49 For I did not speak of my own accord, but the Father who sent me commanded me what to say and how to say it. We had a lot of people to welcome back. Steve Hunt told us about his experiences serving in Hawaii.
Before the message we watched two 11-minute videos: "The Power of Praise - the miracle of Jaxon's healing" (alternative link) and "Raise a Hallelujah (LIVE VICTORY)" (alternative link) from Bethel. Learn about the spiritual warfare these people were doing over Christmas 3 months ago. It is worth watching before listening to our recording. Pastor Dwayne told us about God's goodness, and what happens if we are dunked into God like a paintbrush into a can of paint. During his message we played 7 minutes from "The Send- Jeremy Riddle & Steffany Gretzinger Worship Session" (alternative link). After church we shared a spaghetti dinner that was part of the men's fundraising for their breakaway weekend later this month. |
