The Face of God

3/19/2023

All of us want to experience the presence of God more in our lives.
Various ways are shown from scripture and real-life examples.
Ephesians 5:18-19|NIV
18 Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit.
19 Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord,
Ephesians 5:18-19 | Phillips
Don’t get your stimulus from wine (for there is always the danger of excessive drinking), but let the Spirit stimulate your souls.
Express your joy in singing among yourselves psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, making music in your hearts for the ears of God!
Acts 2:1-2|NIV
1 When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place.
2 Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting.
Psalms 139:7-10|NIV
7 Where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?
8 If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
9 If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
if I settle on the far side of the sea,
10 even there your hand will guide me,
your right hand will hold me fast.
1 Corinthians 6:19|NIV
Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;
1 Corinthians 3:16-17|NIV
16 Don't you know that you yourselves are God's temple and that God's Spirit lives in you?
17 If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy him; for God's temple is sacred, and you are that temple.

The main message for today starts at 12:45 into the recording.
Video link: 2023-03-05 A reason to rejoice - pastor Dwayne Trelenberg
Joel 2:28-29 28 "And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions. 29 Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days.
Isaiah 54:1|NIV
"Sing, O barren woman, you who never bore a child; burst into song, shout for joy, you who were never in labor; because more are the children of the desolate woman than of her who has a husband," says the LORD.
1 Chronicles 15:16|NIV
David told the leaders of the Levites to appoint their brothers as singers to sing joyful songs, accompanied by musical instruments: lyres, harps and cymbals.
Psalms 33:1-3
1 Sing joyfully to the LORD, you righteous; it is fitting for the upright to praise him.
2 Praise the LORD with the harp; make music to him on the ten-stringed lyre.
3 Sing to him a new song; play skillfully, and shout for joy.

12 to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up
Ephesians 2:1 As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins
Ephesians 2:19 Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God's people and members of God's household

What do I do?

2/19/2023

Pastor Dwayne explored the theme along these 3 questions:
  • 1. I don't know what to do?
  • 2. I know what to do but I don't do it.
  • 3. What do I do next?
Before the sermon, we watched a compilation of video clips of the 2023 Asbury Revival in Kentucky, USA. You can see it at https://youtu.be/mcMJYRSPtDM
2 Chronicles 20:12 O our God, will you not judge them? For we have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are upon you."

Exodus 14:15-16 Then the LORD said to Moses, "Why are you crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to move on. 16 Raise your staff and stretch out your hand over the sea to divide the water so that the Israelites can go through the sea on dry ground.

Colossians 2:15 And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.

Joshua 3:9-10 Joshua said to the Israelites, "Come here and listen to the words of the LORD your God.
10 This is how you will know that the living God is among you and that he will certainly drive out before you the Canaanites, Hittites, Hivites, Perizzites, Girgashites, Amorites and Jebusites.
Acts 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."

Mark 16:20 Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs that accompanied it.

1 Corinthians 12:29-30
29 Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles?
30 Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues? Do all interpret?

Abide

Marina brought an excellent message today.  She touched on vineyard maintenance, striving, marriage, divorce, love, discipline, rest, Holy Spirit, and some more.
If your salvation was depending on good works, she'll tell you what the main work is we need to concentrate on.
John 13:1|TPT
All throughout his time with his disciples, Jesus had demonstrated a deep and tender love for them. And now He longed to show them the full measure of his love.
Matthew 16:23|NKJV
But He turned and said to Peter, "Get behind Me, Satan! You are an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men."
Hebrews 12:11|NLT
No discipline is enjoyable while it is happening — it's painful! But afterward there will be a peaceful harvest of right living for those who are trained in this way.
Matthew 11:29|NLT
Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
Isaiah 66:2|NLT
"I will bless those who have humble and contrite hearts, who tremble at my word.

John 15:1-11|NKJV
1 "I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser.
2 Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit.
3 You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.
4 Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.
5 "I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.
6 If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.
7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.
8 By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.
9 "As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love.
10 If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father's commandments and abide in His love.
11 "These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full.

Let the Lion roar

The Old Testament basis, revivals from Biblical times to the modern day, how churches reacted, Jesus as both the Lion and the Lamb, are some of the topics covered in today's message.
The song used in the sermon is LION (feat. Chris Brown & Brandon Lake) | Elevation Worship
Haggai 2:9 'The glory of this present house will be greater than the glory of the former house,' says the LORD Almighty. 'And in this place I will grant peace,' declares the LORD Almighty."
Habakkuk 2:14 For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.
Ephesians 4:11-12
11 It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers,
12 to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up
Matthew 13:17 For I tell you the truth, many prophets and righteous men longed to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it.
Matthew 16:18 And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.
Matthew 25:31-33
31 "When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his throne in heavenly glory.
32 All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.
33 He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.

Get the big picture

1/29/2023

Why do we DO the things we believe? Pastor Dwyane helps us to get the big picture. Aspects touched include God's amazing love for us; God's covenants; healings and the lack of healing; the purpose of being church; faith and mistakes; revivals and personal revival.
2 Timothy 2:20-21
20 In a large house there are articles not only of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay; some are for noble purposes and some for ignoble.
21 If a man cleanses himself from the latter, he will be an instrument for noble purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work.
1 Corinthians 15:26|NIV
The last enemy to be destroyed is death.
Matthew 9:29|NIV
Then he touched their eyes and said, "According to your faith will it be done to you";
Hebrews 11:6|NIV
And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
1 John 5:4|NIV
for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.

Ephesians 4:11-12|NIV
11 It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers,
12 to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up
1 Corinthians 12:4-10|NIV
4 There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit.   5 There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord.
6 There are different kinds of working, but the same God works all of them in all men.
7 Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.
8 To one there is given through the Spirit the message of wisdom, to another the message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit,
9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit,
10 to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues.

Is it important what we believe?

1/22/2023

If you say it is important what we believe, you should also ask "Is what I believe really true?"
Pastor Dwayne Trelenberg starts with 4 covenants God has made with His people.
Learn more about your role in these covenants.
Genesis 1:28|NIV God blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground."
Genesis 9:1|NIV Then God blessed Noah and his sons, saying to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the earth.
Genesis 15:5|NIV He took him outside and said, "Look up at the heavens and count the stars — if indeed you can count them." Then he said to him, "So shall your offspring be."
Genesis 18:18|NIV Abraham will surely become a great and powerful nation, and all nations on earth will be blessed through him.
Galatians 3:7-8
7 Understand, then, that those who believe are children of Abraham.  8 The Scripture foresaw that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, and announced the gospel in advance to Abraham: "All nations will be blessed through you."
Luke 22:20|NIV
In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.
John 10:10  The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

2 Corinthians 5:20|NIV
We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God.
2 Corinthians 5:20|TPT: The Passion Translation
We are ambassadors of the Anointed One who carry the message of Christ to the world, as though God were tenderly pleading with them directly through our lips. So we tenderly plead with you on Christ’s behalf, “Turn back to God and be reconciled to him.”
Matthew 13:17|NIV
For I tell you the truth, many prophets and righteous men longed to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it.
1 Corinthians 13:11-12|NIV
11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me.
12 Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
1 Corinthians 15:26|NIV
The last enemy to be destroyed is death.
Habakkuk 2:14|NIV
For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.

Our response to world events in 2023

1/15/2023

Pastor Dwayne introduced the message with a historic overview of Christianity as a religion and the origin of Christmas.  Some of the questions addressed are:
For 2023, what are the important aspects to focus on?  When is Jesus coming again?  A revival to correct a previous revival?
Revelation 12:12 Therefore rejoice, you heavens and you who dwell in them! But woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has gone down to you! He is filled with fury, because he knows that his time is short."
Joel 2:28 And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions.
Acts 2:17 In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.
Acts 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
Mark 16:15 He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation."
Matthew 28:19-20
19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
2 Corinthians 5:20 We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God.
Ephesians 6:10-14
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.
11 Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes.
12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place

Starting 2023

Starting the new 2023 year with purpose and celebrating communion. Ferdi encourages us to grow, and to experience changes and personal revival. Pastor Dwayne elaborated on being family and our fragile relationships.  We are praying for God to move in this the year.
Luke 5:37-39
37 And no one pours new wine into old wineskins. If he does, the new wine will burst the skins, the wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined. 38 No, new wine must be poured into new wineskins. 39 And no one after drinking old wine wants the new, for he says, 'The old is better.'
Matthew
18:19-20
19 I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. 20 For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.
Hebrews
3:13 But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin's deceitfulness.
Hebrews
10:25 Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another - and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
Ephesians
2:19-22
19 Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God's people and members of God's household, 20 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. 21 In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. 22 And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.
Isaiah 4:4-6 4 The Lord will wash away the filth of the women of Zion; he will cleanse the bloodstains from Jerusalem by a spirit of judgment and a spirit of fire. 5 Then the LORD will create over all of Mount Zion and over those who assemble there a cloud of smoke by day and a glow of flaming fire by night; over all the glory will be a canopy. 6 It will be a shelter and shade from the heat of the day, and a refuge and hiding place from the storm and rain.

Pastor Dwayne addressed what we want to and need to see. He also highlighted current happenings on earth and we watched a prophetic dream "Wind" of pastor John Kilpatrick.
Mark 10:51 "What do you want me to do for you?" Jesus asked him. The blind man said, "Rabbi, I want to see."
Habakkuk 2:14|NIV For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.

What do you see?

Pastor Dwayne started in the Old Testament on the power and effect of what we see.  Find better ways to see what God wants you to see.
The clips we watched come from "Delia Knox Testimony at Bay of the Spirit Revival" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8_YcLXZyjtc
As homework, we can look at
= Brownsville revival 1995+ (also known as the Pensacola Outpouring) in Florida, USA
= Bay revival 2010+ (also known as Bay of the Spirit Revival) in Alabama, USA
Ephesians 1:18-23
18 I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints,
19 and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty strength,
20 which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms,
21 far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come.
22 And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church,
23 which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.
Genesis 1:25 God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.
Genesis 3:6-7
6 When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it.
7 Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves.
2 Chronicles 7:6 The priests took their positions, as did the Levites with the LORD's musical instruments, which King David had made for praising the LORD and which were used when he gave thanks, saying, "His love endures forever." Opposite the Levites, the priests blew their trumpets, and all the Israelites were standing.
Luke 1:31-33
31 You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus.
32 He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David,
33 and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever; his kingdom will never end."
John 1:29 The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, "Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!
Matthew 16:18 And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.
Matthew 28:19-20
19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
Genesis 1:28 God blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground."
Genesis 9:1 Then God blessed Noah and his sons, saying to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the earth.
Genesis 12:1-3
1 The LORD had said to Abram, "Leave your country, your people and your father's household and go to the land I will show you.
2 "I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.
3 I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you."
2 Chronicles 7:1-3
1 When Solomon finished praying, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices, and the glory of the LORD filled the temple.
2 The priests could not enter the temple of the LORD because the glory of the LORD filled it.
3 When all the Israelites saw the fire coming down and the glory of the LORD above the temple, they knelt on the pavement with their faces to the ground, and they worshiped and gave thanks to the LORD, saying, "He is good; his love endures forever."

Hunters vs Hikers

11/27/2022

Other people can't see thru your eyes.  They want to know:
1. Are you looking?
2. What are you looking for?
3. What are you qualified to look for?
Pastor Dwayne continued on his hunting theme from last week about "Hungry Eyes", looking at the differences between hunters and hikers.
The promise and purpose is revival in your life.
Matthew 13:13-15|NIV
13 This is why I speak to them in parables: "Though seeing, they do not see; though hearing, they do not hear or understand.
14 In them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah: "'You will be ever hearing but never understanding; you will be ever seeing but never perceiving.
15 For this people's heart has become calloused; they hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts and turn, and I would heal them.'
Colossians 1:12 giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light.
2 Timothy 1:9 who has saved us and called us to a holy life -- not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time,
Isaiah 53:5 But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed.
1 Peter 2:24 He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed.

Hungry eyes

The difference between the eyes of a hunter and the eyes of a hiker in the same circumstances lead to the title of this message by pastor Dwayne Trelenberg.  How are you looking at the world around you? To enjoy and appreciate it, or to gain something?
Matthew 13:13-15|NIV
13 This is why I speak to them in parables: "Though seeing, they do not see; though hearing, they do not hear or understand.
14 In them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah: "'You will be ever hearing but never understanding; you will be ever seeing but never perceiving.
15 For this people's heart has become calloused; they hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts and turn, and I would heal them.'
Acts 4:12|NIV Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved."
Philippians 2:12|NIV Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed --not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence--
continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling,
2 Timothy 3:5|NIV having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them.
Acts 1:8|NIV But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
John 14:12|NIV I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.

Shoes and feet

11/13/2022

Georgina brought a joyful message that calls us to serve God. Hear about shoes, feet and lamps.
We listened to "Holy Ground" as sung by Charity Gayle.
Psalm 119:105 Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.
Ephesians 6:15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.
Ephesians 6:15 TPT Stand on your feet alert, then you’ll always be ready to share the blessings of peace.
Isaiah 52:7 How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, “Your God reigns!”
John 13:4-16 Jesus ...
4 got up from supper, and laid aside His garments; and taking a towel, He girded Himself.
5 Then He poured water into the basin, and began to wash the disciples’ feet and to wipe them with the towel with which He was girded. 6 So He came to Simon Peter. He said to Him, “Lord, do You wash my feet?” 7 Jesus answered and said to him, “What I do you do not realize now, but you will understand hereafter.” 8Peter said to Him, “Never shall You wash my feet!” Jesus answered him, “If I do not wash you, you have no part with Me.” 9Simon Peter said to Him, “Lord, then wash not only my feet, but also my hands and my head.” 10 Jesus said to him, “He who has bathed needs only to wash his feet, but is completely clean; and you are clean, but not all of you.” 11 For He knew the one who was betraying Him; for this reason He said, “Not all of you are clean.”
12 So when He had washed their feet, and taken His garments and reclined at the table again, He said to them, “Do you know what I have done to you? 13 “You call Me Teacher and Lord; and you are right, for so I am. 14 “If I then, the Lord and the Teacher, washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. 15 “For I gave you an example that you also should do as I did to you. 16 “Truly, truly, I say to you, a slave is not greater than his master, nor is one who is sent greater than the one who sent him.

Rita Bear Gray, our guest speaker, brought a refreshing message of hope from her native view point.
Rita has a rich experience of ministering among First Nations of the north and various indigenous tribes.  One can hear about her adventures from her being abandoned up north as a 4-year old, to her current ministry with an emphasis on reconciliation, prayer and intercession.
She was born on the rez in Sandy Bay, Saskatchewan, got a Catholic education, was saved at 26 in a Baptist church, baptized in a Pentecostal church and later became an ordained minister.
She ministered in Alaska, the Artic and at various international conferences with people like Jean Stephansen, John Dawson, Peter Wagner, Chuck Pierce, and more. Her travels took her to many countries including the Israeli and Palestinian people where they even spoke at the Knesset.
You may read her testimony "Abandoned but not forsaken".

She wrote:
As a Native American woman, my identity is in Christ first and when you know who you are in Him first, then He gives it back to you because He is a God of restoration. If you need a mother or a father, or a best friend, Jesus is whatever you need Him to be.
If you are a First Nations person, He gives you back your songs, your language, your dances-everything about you that makes you who you are as a Native person.
I've learned that every culture has things that are precious and vile. You have to take the precious from the vile. Take the good and use it for His glory and leave the bad.
Every culture is a sin-stained culture. None of us are without sin.

Cling to Jesus

Have you ever thought about what it means to cling to Jesus?
Mike brought the message with the potential to change our life for real.
Hebrews 4:14|NLT 1996 That is why we have a great High Priest who has gone to heaven, Jesus the Son of God. Let us cling to him and never stop trusting him.
1 Samuel 16:7|NLT But the LORD said to Samuel, "Don't judge by his appearance or height, for I have rejected him. The LORD doesn't see things the way you see them. People judge by outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart."
Deuteronomy 10:20|NLT You must fear the LORD your God and worship him and cling to him. Your oaths must be in his name alone.
Joshua 23:8|NLT Rather, cling tightly to the LORD your God as you have done until now.
1 Timothy 1:18|NLT Timothy, my son, here are my instructions for you, based on the prophetic words spoken about you earlier. May they help you fight well in the Lord's battles.
Psalm 63:8|NLT I cling to you;  your strong right hand holds me securely.
Galatians 6:15-16|NLT 15  It doesn't matter whether we have been circumcised or not. What counts is whether we have been transformed into a new creation.
16  May God's peace and mercy be upon all who live by this principle; they are the new people of God.
Romans 12:2|NLT Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God's will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
Psalms 40:2-3|NIV 2 He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.
3 He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear and put their trust in the LORD.

"Being Good" versus "Doing Good"

What is the difference between "Being Good" versus "Doing Good"?
Pastor Dwayne Trelenberg illustrates how we think we can settle for Being Good.
Romans 5:3-5 3 Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4 perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5 And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.
Matthew 20:26|NIV Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant,
James 2:17|NIV In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.
Hebrews 11:6|NIV And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
Mark 10:45|NIV For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."
Matthew 8:20|NIV Jesus replied, "Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head."
Mark 4:19|NIV but the worries of this life, the deceitfulness of wealth and the desires for other things come in and choke the word, making it unfruitful.

A very practical message by pastor Dwayne Trelenberg.  We each follow a unique path.
Just stop a bit and think about things you may have ignored.
Matthew 11:28-29  "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
Matthew 9:35 Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness.
Mark 10:18 "Why do you call me good?" Jesus answered. "No one is good--except God alone.
Acts 10:38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him.
Matthew 10:42 And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is my disciple, I tell you the truth, he will certainly not lose his reward."
John 14:12 I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.

Let's talk about Jesus. & What is truth?

Pastor Dwayne thought of 2 titles: "Let's talk about Jesus" & "What is truth?"
He covers both and ends up with the Holy Spirit. There are many things to think about and to apply in your own life.
Matthew 1:21 She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
John 14:6 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

Today was child dedication for Erik & Joline.
Pastor Dwayne followed up with an encouraging message for all parents.
Picture
Psalms 127:3 Children are a heritage from the LORD, offspring a reward from him.
Joshua 4:21-24
21 He said to the Israelites, "In the future when your descendants ask their fathers, 'What do these stones mean?'
22 tell them, 'Israel crossed the Jordan on dry ground.'
23 For the LORD your God dried up the Jordan before you until you had crossed over. The LORD your God did to the Jordan just what he had done to the Red Sea when he dried it up before us until we had crossed over.
24 He did this so that all the peoples of the earth might know that the hand of the LORD is powerful and so that you might always fear the LORD your God."

Running the race

Ferdi brought the message today.  Don't look for the easy comfortable way to be a Christian.  Taking the hard way yields way more fruit.
Hebrews 12:1-7
1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. 2 Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.  4 In your struggle against sin, you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood. 5 And you have forgotten that word of encouragement that addresses you as sons: "My son, do not make light of the Lord's discipline, and do not lose heart when he rebukes you,  6 because the Lord disciplines those he loves, and he punishes everyone he accepts as a son." 7 Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as sons. For what son is not disciplined by his father?
Philippians 3:12-14
12  I don't mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection. But I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me. 13  No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead,  14  I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.
1 Corinthians 9:24-27
24  Don't you realize that in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize? So run to win! 25  All athletes are disciplined in their training. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize. 26  So I run with purpose in every step. I am not just shadowboxing. 27  I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified.

Philippians 4:13 For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.

Isaiah 40:29-31
29 He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless.
30 Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion.
31 But those who trust in the LORD will find new strength.  They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.

To dwell above, with the saints I love, - is blissful glory.
But to dwell below, with the saints I know, - is quite a different story!

Matthew 24:13 (NLT) But the one who endures to the end will be saved.

Tired: Isaiah 40:29-31
Devil: James 4:7 So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Obedience: John 14:15 (AMP) If you [really] love Me, you will keep and obey My commandments.
Vision: Hebrews 12:2 Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, 3 Consider Him …, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

Practice:  Faith –  Pray –  Do good –  Love –  Truth -

Video: Hebrews 11:1-2; Ephesians 2:8-10; Hebrews 12:1-2; 1 Corinthians 9:24-27; 2 Timothy 4:7

Pastor Dwayne gave the audience a chance to to say what the message's title would have been to them. Some of the answers were:
  1. It's your choice
  2. What am I doing?
  3. Make yourself holy
  4. What's in my hand?
  5. Make yourself a living sacrifice.
Acts 10:38 NIV
how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him.
2 Timothy 2:20-21 NIV
20 In a large house there are articles not only of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay; some are for noble purposes and some for ignoble.
21 If a man cleanses himself from the latter, he will be an instrument for noble purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work.

What is this meaning?

Hebrews 10:19-20
MSG 19-20 So, friends, we can now — without hesitation — walk right up to God, into “the Holy Place.” Jesus has cleared the way by the blood of his sacrifice, acting as our priest before God.

TPT 19 And now we are brothers and sisters in God’s family because of the blood of Jesus, and he welcomes us to come into the most holy sanctuary in the heavenly realm — boldly and without hesitation.

New Living Translation
And so, dear brothers and sisters, we can boldly enter heaven’s Most Holy Place because of the blood of Jesus.

Rom. 8:35-37 NIV
35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36 As it is written: “For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”
37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Mike brought the message on God's blessings.
How do you experience God in your life? (Audio quality is not yet good, sorry.)
1 John 4:16 New Living Translation We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love. God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them.
Isaiah 55:6 New Living Translation Seek the LORD while you can find him. Call on him now while he is near.
Matthew 6:33 New Living Translation Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.
Philippians 4:19 New Living Translation And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.
Genesis 1:28 New Living Translation Then God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it. Reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that scurry along the ground.”
Genesis 18:19 New Living Translation I have singled him out so that he will direct his sons and their families to keep the way of the LORD by doing what is right and just. Then I will do for Abraham all that I have promised.”

James 1:17 New Living Translation Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow.
1 Corinthians 2:9 New Living Translation That is what the Scriptures mean when they say, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.”
Philippians 1:6 New Living Translation And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.
Colossians 2:7-9 New Living Translation
Don’t let anyone capture you with empty philosophies and high-sounding nonsense that come from human thinking and from the spiritual powers of this world, rather than from Christ.
1 Peter 2:1 New Living Translation So get rid of all evil behavior. Be done with all deceit, hypocrisy, jealousy, and all unkind speech.
Exodus 20:1-17
Matthew 5:3-12

Galatians 5:22-23 New Living Translation But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
gentleness, and self-control.
