Marina brought an excellent message today.  She touched on vineyard maintenance, striving, marriage, divorce, love, discipline, rest, Holy Spirit, and some more.
​If your salvation was depending on good works, she'll tell you what the main work is we need to concentrate on. 

​The Old Testament basis, revivals from Biblical times to the modern day, how churches reacted, Jesus as both the Lion and the Lamb, are some of the topics covered in today's message.

Pastor Dwayne introduced the message with a historic overview of Christianity as a religion and the origin of Christmas.  Some of the questions addressed are:
​For 2023, what are the important aspects to focus on?  When is Jesus coming again?  A revival to correct a previous revival?

Starting the new 2023 year with purpose and celebrating communion. Ferdi encourages us to grow, and to experience changes and personal revival. Pastor Dwayne elaborated on being family and our fragile relationships.  We are praying for God to move in this the year.

Luke 5:37-39
​37 And no one pours new wine into old wineskins. If he does, the new wine will burst the skins, the wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined. 38 No, new wine must be poured into new wineskins. 39 And no one after drinking old wine wants the new, for he says, 'The old is better.'
Matthew 18:19-20
19 I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. 20 For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.
Hebrews 3:13 But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin's deceitfulness.
Hebrews 10:25 Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another - and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
Ephesians 2:19-22
19 Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God's people and members of God's household, 20 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. 21 In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. 22 And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.
Isaiah 4:4-6 4 The Lord will wash away the filth of the women of Zion; he will cleanse the bloodstains from Jerusalem by a spirit of judgment and a spirit of fire. 5 Then the LORD will create over all of Mount Zion and over those who assemble there a cloud of smoke by day and a glow of flaming fire by night; over all the glory will be a canopy. 6 It will be a shelter and shade from the heat of the day, and a refuge and hiding place from the storm and rain.

Pastor Dwayne addressed what we want to and need to see. He also highlighted current happenings on earth and we watched a prophetic dream "Wind" of pastor John Kilpatrick. 

Mark 10:51 "What do you want me to do for you?" Jesus asked him. The blind man said, "Rabbi, I want to see."
Habakkuk 2:14|NIV For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.

Pastor Dwayne started in the Old Testament on the power and effect of what we see.  Find better ways to see what God wants you to see.

2 Chronicles 7:1-3

3 When all the Israelites saw the fire coming down and the glory of the LORD above the temple, they knelt on the pavement with their faces to the ground, and they worshiped and gave thanks to the LORD, saying, "He is good; his love endures forever."

Other people can't see thru your eyes.  They want to know:
1. Are you looking?
2. What are you looking for?
3. What are you qualified to look for?
Pastor Dwayne continued on his hunting theme from last week about "Hungry Eyes", looking at the differences between hunters and hikers.
The promise and purpose is revival in your life.

Colossians 1:12 giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light.
2 Timothy 1:9 who has saved us and called us to a holy life -- not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time,
Isaiah 53:5 But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed.
1 Peter 2:24 He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed.

The difference between the eyes of a hunter and the eyes of a hiker in the same circumstances lead to the title of this message by pastor Dwayne Trelenberg.  How are you looking at the world around you? To enjoy and appreciate it, or to gain something?

Rita Bear Gray, our guest speaker, brought a refreshing message of hope from her native view point.
Rita has a rich experience of ministering among First Nations of the north and various indigenous tribes.  One can hear about her adventures from her being abandoned up north as a 4-year old, to her current ministry with an emphasis on reconciliation, prayer and intercession. 
She was born on the rez in Sandy Bay, Saskatchewan, got a Catholic education, was saved at 26 in a Baptist church, baptized in a Pentecostal church and later became an ordained minister. 
She ministered in Alaska, the Artic and at various international conferences with people like Jean Stephansen, John Dawson, Peter Wagner, Chuck Pierce, and more. Her travels took her to many countries including the Israeli and Palestinian people where they even spoke at the Knesset.

What is the difference between "Being Good" versus "Doing Good"?

Matthew 20:26|NIV Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant,
James 2:17|NIV In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.
Hebrews 11:6|NIV And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
Mark 10:45|NIV For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."

Mark 10:18 "Why do you call me good?" Jesus answered. "No one is good--except God alone.
Acts 10:38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him.
Matthew 10:42 And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is my disciple, I tell you the truth, he will certainly not lose his reward."
John 14:12 I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.

Pastor Dwayne thought of 2 titles: "Let's talk about Jesus" & "What is truth?"
He covers both and ends up with the Holy Spirit. There are many things to think about and to apply in your own life.

Matthew 1:21 She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
John 14:6 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

​Today was child dedication for Erik & Joline.
Pastor Dwayne followed up with an encouraging ​message for all parents.

Psalms 127:3 Children are a heritage from the LORD, offspring a reward from him.
Joshua 4:21-24
21 He said to the Israelites, "In the future when your descendants ask their fathers, 'What do these stones mean?'
22 tell them, 'Israel crossed the Jordan on dry ground.'
23 For the LORD your God dried up the Jordan before you until you had crossed over. The LORD your God did to the Jordan just what he had done to the Red Sea when he dried it up before us until we had crossed over.
24 He did this so that all the peoples of the earth might know that the hand of the LORD is powerful and so that you might always fear the LORD your God."

Ferdi brought the message today.  Don't look for the easy comfortable way to be a Christian.  Taking the hard way yields way more fruit.

Hebrews 12:1-7
1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. 2 Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.  4 In your struggle against sin, you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood. 5 And you have forgotten that word of encouragement that addresses you as sons: "My son, do not make light of the Lord's discipline, and do not lose heart when he rebukes you,  6 because the Lord disciplines those he loves, and he punishes everyone he accepts as a son." 7 Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as sons. For what son is not disciplined by his father? 
Philippians 3:12-14
12  I don't mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection. But I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me. 13  No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead,  14  I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.
1 Corinthians 9:24-27   
​24  Don't you realize that in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize? So run to win! 25  All athletes are disciplined in their training. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize. 26  So I run with purpose in every step. I am not just shadowboxing. 27  I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified.

Philippians 4:13 For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.

Isaiah 40:29-31 
29 He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. 
30 Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion.
31 But those who trust in the LORD will find new strength.  They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.

To dwell above, with the saints I love, - is blissful glory.
But to dwell below, with the saints I know, - is quite a different story!

Matthew 24:13 (NLT) But the one who endures to the end will be saved.

Tired: Isaiah 40:29-31
Devil: James 4:7 So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Obedience: John 14:15 (AMP) If you [really] love Me, you will keep and obey My commandments.
Vision: Hebrews 12:2 Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, 3 Consider Him …, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

TPT 19 And now we are brothers and sisters in God’s family because of the blood of Jesus, and he welcomes us to come into the most holy sanctuary in the heavenly realm — boldly and without hesitation.
