2 Corinthians 1:21-22 21 It is God who enables us, along with you, to stand firm for Christ. He has commissioned us, 22 and He has identified us as his own by placing the Holy Spirit in our hearts as the first installment that guarantees everything He has promised us. 2 Corinthians 3:6 He has enabled us to be ministers of his new covenant. This is a covenant not of written laws, but of the Spirit. The old written covenant ends in death; but under the new covenant, the Spirit gives life. |
now that the Holy Spirit is giving life?
2 Corinthians 3:17-18
17 For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
18 So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord.
And the Lord --who is the Spirit-- makes us more and more like Him as we are changed into his glorious image.
Galatians 3:2-5
2 Let me ask you this one question: Did you receive the Holy Spirit by obeying the law of Moses? Of course not!
You received the Spirit because you believed the message you heard about Christ.
3 How foolish can you be? After starting your Christian lives in the Spirit, why are you now trying to become perfect by your own human effort?
4 Have you experienced so much for nothing?
Surely it was not in vain, was it?
5 I ask you again, does God give you the Holy Spirit and work miracles among you because you obey the law?
Of course not! It is because you believe the message you heard about Christ.
